What
is the Harvard Geographic Society (HGS)?
HGS exists to sponsor activities of a geographical
nature for the general student body, stimulate interest
in the science of geography, and provide a variety
of activities for members to enhance their educational
and social experiences while attending Harvard University.
What
activities do you do?
Our
activities include mini-geography bees (with cool
prizes!), GIS tutorial workshops, Harvard Map Collection
tours, and the Harvard Geography Bee (for middle school
students). We are also in the process of planning
a "Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?"
event, a campus-wide geography bee, a scavenger/puzzle
hunt, Geography Awareness Week, and also a tutoring
program for local Boston/Cambridge-area middle schools.

you approved by the student activities office?
Yes.
How
often are your meetings?
We
usually have meetings every month. Each of our meetings
will feature the mini-geography bee, in which participants
can win prizes for correct answers to geography questions.
